Top 5 Make Up Hacks for Diwali

  Diwali is all about lights, family gathering, partying, marked with crackers and feasting.  A five day long festival which ends with Bhaidooj.  As a kid Diwali for me was all about new clothes, sweets and crackers, with time I realized it's a lot more than that. Makeup has been my biggest learning though. The festive season has always and will always be about looking all dolled up in the most glamorous way possible.

Today am going to share some amazing hacks that will ensure your makeup stays intact all the day or throughout the night and whenever you are wearing it. I would like to start off by saying that you may know some of the hacks as they are really easy or you may not know any of them, these hacks will make sure that your makeup stays for the longest time. You really do not need to follow all the steps that I tell, you can just take them in bits and pieces and later incorporate that into your routine.
   
Even when I do my makeup I do not use all the hacks at one go because you definitely do not want to look like a disco ball. Again it's all about gathering knowledge for a flawless makeup according to your skin type.

    So, without a further ado let's get started :
Hack 1-   PRIMER

A primer has the capability or the trait to make your face a plain canvas for your makeup to glide on easily and make it last longer than it is supposed to stay for.

          So, After priming your entire face, you want to head for eyeshadow primer. They always come in a tinted version but you can find a clear one as well. We generally use an eyeshadow primer on our eyelids so that the eyeshadow does not crease but because it is about the festive look we can use it under the eyes after our concealer as our under eyes tend to crease a lot.
Next use the eyeshadow primer on all the places you feel that you crease a lot or your makeup vanishes in a snap of your finger! People who are very facially expressive can go ahead and use the primer on their smile lines as well. I would request all my readers to use a "Beauty sponge/blender" to blend all the product and not any makeup brush for a flawless look. Please take time in blending!!

Hack 2-    LOOSE FACE POWDER

A loose powder sets your face and makes everything smooth and flawless. You can also use a compact but  I would advise you my gorgeous people to use a translucent powder and not a tinted one as it can change the colour of your base makeup or oxidize.

      Use the translucent powder before your foundation and after your primer because that will give you a better coverage. Though the powder you will use, will be a translucent one it will mix with your foundation as you go ahead with your make up for all good coverage and finish. Dust the powder smoothly and evenly before your foundation.

Hack 3-   DAMP BEAUTY SPONGE/BLENDER

A damp sponge/blender always makes your makeup seamless and prevents it from being cakey!

For this method squeeze all the excess water from your tool and take a makeup fixer spray and spritz it all over your sponge/blender and use it to dab your foundation in place. This will ensure that your foundation stays on for a longer time period.
( TIP: Oily skin people please use a MATTE spray as it will close your pores and stop oil secretion,
           Dry skin people please use a DEWY spray as it has come oil content which will give you a                 hydrated finish.
          NORMAL/COMBINATION skin people can opt for anything according to the weather and                  liking but choose the best always)

Hack 4-   CONCEALER

A concealer will cover all the pigmentation or discolouration you have on your face be it dark circles or acne spots. It is a thicker version of a foundation.

Take your concealer use it under your eyes and wherever you generally do and let it rest for 45 seconds so that it sets a little and then start the blending.
(TIP: If you want to conceal all your pigmentation opt for a concealer that is exactly of your skin shade and later use a highlighting concealer to bring some light and dimension to your facial features.  this one extra step will even give you a full coverage concealed look.)

Hack 5-   LAYERING
If you want your makeup to stay for the longest time the secret to that is LAYERING!!!
Be it anything from contouring, highlighting, to eyeshadow layering will give you better pay off and make your make up last longer.

Use a cream contour to crave out your features and to achieve a sharp look. After all the cream contouring use a matte bronzer to set the cream contour in place. If you want you can even use a shimmery bronzer to give that extra glow but make sure you do not go overboard with the shimmer product.

For highlighting use a liquid illuminator then top it with your go to highlighter for that blinding look.
For blush use a cheek tint if you can then top it with your blush for that beautiful flush of colour.
(TIP: If you do not want to invest in a cheek tint or a liquid blush you can dot a lipstick which nearly matches your blush, it will work the same.  Make sure you use a moisture lipstick and not a completely matte one because they are difficult to blend and will end up looking patchy)
